Why the USA

A university system built on choice, research funding and work rights

The United States is home to more than 4,000 accredited colleges and universities, and roughly 8,700 of them are certified by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to enrol international students on an F-1 visa. That scale is what sets the US apart from almost any other study destination. A student choosing between a large public research university, a small private liberal arts college or a specialised technical institute often within the same state, with financial aid and merit scholarships attached to many of them.

For a family comparing options, the real draw isn't just the degree rather it's the year or more of legal work authorisation that comes with it.

That's the other half of the equation. Graduates on an F-1 visa can work in their field for up to 12 months through Optional Practical Training (OPT), and STEM graduates can extend that by a further 24 months nearly three years of US work experience before a student has to think about their next visa. Elunite exists to make this system navigable by verifying which universities are genuinely SEVP-certified, matching a student's academic profile and test scores to realistic options, and staying with them through the I-20, the DS-160, the visa interview, and their first weeks on campus.

The Elunite's Difference

Beyond the Brochure: What Students Need

01

SEVP-Approved

We check every university against the current SEVP-certified school list before it reaches a student's shortlist. Only SEVP-certified schools can legally issue the I-20 an F-1 visa requires.

02

Eligibility clarity

We explain your programme's admission requirements, eligibility criteria, and required documents in simple language, so you know exactly what is needed before you apply.

03

End-to-end F-1 visa support

From the I-20 and SEVIS I-901 fee to the DS-160 form and the consular interview, we handle the paperwork trail so your focus stays on the course, not the embassy queue.

04

Real fee transparency

We provide transparent tuition, housing, and living-cost estimates upfront, along with which merit scholarships your profile actually qualifies for and no hidden fees or surprises after admission.

05

On-ground arrival support

Airport pickup coordination, housing check-in and orientation for a student's first days on campus, arranged before they land.

06

OPT & career guidance

We brief every student on CPT, OPT and the STEM-OPT extension well before graduation, so the transition from classroom to work authorisation isn't left to guesswork.

Questions asked by students & parents

Most SEVP-certified universities require IELTS or TOEFL scores unless your prior education was taught entirely in English, in which case some schools grant a waiver. Requirements vary by university and programme, so we check the exact policy for each school on your shortlist before you apply.
Optional Practical Training (OPT) lets F-1 graduates work in their field for up to 12 months after finishing their degree. Graduates of STEM-designated programmes can apply for a further 24-month STEM-OPT extension, giving up to three years of legal US work experience before needing another visa category.
US tuition runs higher than India, China or much of Europe — public universities typically charge international students $20,000–$35,000 a year, and private universities $35,000–$60,000 — but the OPT work-authorisation period afterward is a big part of why families still budget for it.
Yes. F-1 students can work on campus up to 20 hours a week during the semester and up to 40 hours a week during official breaks. Off-campus work generally requires CPT or OPT authorisation tied to your specific programme.
Yes, provided the university is properly accredited by a recognised US accrediting body. Degrees from accredited institutions are widely respected by employers and graduate schools across the Gulf, Asia, Europe and beyond — accreditation is the detail we verify before any university makes it onto a shortlist.
